About

  • Dr Priyanka Sharma is Professor and Coordinator of the MTech Computer Science and Engineering programme. She is NVIDIA Certified Deep Learning University Ambassador and has over 20 years of teaching and industrial experience. Dr Sharma has received her BE in Computer Engineering from L D Engineering College, MTech Computer Science and Engineering and PhD (2013) from Nirma University. Her international exposure includes visits to Silicon Valley, USA (2019) and Halifax and Toronto in Canada (2014) for research based collaborations/presentations. Dr Sharma is the Co-Chair of International Conference NUiCONE 2019, a flagship event of Institute of Technology. She has completed three research projects funded by Shastri Indo-Canadian Research Grant, IPR and GUJCOST and is currently working on 2 projects funded by BRNS-DAE. She has also worked as the Principal Investigator of NVIDIA Research Center (2014). She has jointly received the CCI Technology Award (2015) (Gujarat State Level) and FICCI Award for Best University in the Use of technology (2015) (National Level), on behalf of Nirma University. One of her research project also received Best Project Award at CSI Project Innovations at National Level. Dr Sharma has received Best Research Paper Awards (2015, 2018) and ACM Best Poster award (2017). She has worked with RUSA Maharashtra for designing a broad base curriculum for AI and Deep Learning for the professional colleges of Maharashtra State. She is also involved as an Adviser/Member at various academic and research bodies at Nirma University. She is a registered PhD Guide at Nirma University and is currently guiding 5 PhD students with one scholar having completed his PhD under her guidance. Dr Sharma is also a member of various professional bodies like IEEE, ACM, IEEE Sensors Council, IEEE Biometrics Council, IEEE Signal Processing Society and Life Member of ISTE and CSI.
