Team CON-SOL-E 3.0 comprising of undergraduate students of Instrumentation and Control Engineering Department, mentored by Prof Alpesh Patel and Prof Harsh Kapadia represented Institute of technology Nirma University. A next generation household garbage management solution using Mitsubishi Factory Automation components, cloud-based software, deep neural network (DNN) and industrial internet of things presented. The solution consisted of four modules namely smart dustbin, solar powered autonomous vehicle, waste segregation assembly and wet waste composter. Solid waste (PET plastic bottles, aluminium cans and tetra pack) is segregated using a deep learning (from images captured by industrial camera) based classifier and separated into various dustbins using pneumatic nozzles. Team “CON-SOL- E 3.0 ” secured 2nd place and become winner of Silver Cup along with Rs.75000/- Prize.
