Abstract: In the times when Electric Vehicles are gaining popularity and its technology is evolved everyday to make them viable and commercially competitive to the IC engine vehicles. The field of Electric Vehicle is yet to address various issues and one amongst it is reliability and maintenance of motors. While, induction motor is sturdy and resilient to jerks and other external forces, brushless DC and switched reluctance motors, which are gaining more and more significance due to higher efficiency and easier control, are quite susceptible to damage due to persistent jerks and thus need to be monitored regularly in order to avoid accidents and significant maintenance costs. Therefore, the motive of project is to find a way to continuously monitor the health of motor at low cost and to predict type of sustained fault in nescient stage to improve the reliability of Electric Vehicles for long run.
