Team “A-Man-Tab” comprising of Electronics and Instrumentation engineering undergraduate students participated in 3rd edition of Open Automation Challenge-2023. The competition is a national level automation competition organised by ABB and B&R Automation. The competition was held at NBN Sinhgad School of Engineering, Pune during 16th-17th February 2023.
The team A-Man-Tab was selected in the top 15 teams for the project demonstration out of 106 proposals received. The competition was planned for two weeks, during the first week all the participants were given online training on different tools such as Automation studio, Robot Studio. During the second week based on the learning from the training sessions, teams were required to implement prototype of project submitted in their proposal.
The team worked on the theme “Smart Automation for Healthcare / Pharmaceutical Manufacturing”, Automated the Tablet manufacturing process and presented future prospects using ABB and B&R automation technology. Team proposed a solution from raw material handling, monitoring and control of different unit operations followed by quality inspection and packaging, with additional remote dashboard facility in the competition. The team won first runner up position.
