Project Title: Big Five Personality Traits and Communication Attitudes in Indian Engineering Students
Abstract:
The proposed research study will investigate the relationship between the big five personality traits as measured by the Big-Five Inventory (BFI) and the communication attitudes as measured by the Communication Skills Attitude Scale (CSAS) of Indian engineering students. It is anticipated that the findings from our research will help us to understand the relevance of considering personality variables in designing activities that can facilitate language teachers to tailor their lesson plans of oral communication for engineering students in language classrooms, accordingly. Additionally, the study will offer recommendations for improving the existing practical modules on English Communication Skills, which will prepare our students to communicate complex engineering ideas, issues, & challenges effectively for ever-demanding and competitive job-oriented markets in the future.
