A GUJCOST funded project was granted to a team of faculties. The main objective of the study was to develop a safe, economical and competent process to produce Biodiesel. After studying various parameters a catalyst free ultrasonic process was proposed. An Indian Patent for the proposed process was filled in the year 2014. The patent was published in 2016 (Application No. 2893/MUM/2014) in Indian Patent Journal. Subsequently the said patent is granted by the Indian Patent office with the patent number 381174 on 02nd November 2021. The team members for the project were Dr A P Vyas (Ex Professor at Chemical Department), Dr M H Joshipura (Professor, Chemical Department) and students from Chemical Engineering Department.
