The International Symposium on VLSI Design and Test VDAT has been started in 1997 by VLSI Society of India and is being hosted by IITs, NITs and MNC of VLSI Design like Intel, Wipro, Cadence. VDAT2015, nineteenth in its series, was hosted by Nirma University during 26-29 June, 2015. VDAT2015 was publicized through very active website and mobile app. More than 314 papers of various areas related to VLSI Design and Test was submitted. The paper submission and acceptance statistics shows that the major contribution of papers are from IITs, NITs and research institutes. After the double fold plagiarism check using turnitin and IEEE cross check, the papers were double blind reviewed by nearly 150 reputed professors and scientists and total 119 papers were selected for oral/full paper and poster/short paper presentation. 34% acceptance ratio signifies the quality of conference. More than 250 participants attended the conference and more than more than 25 professors from US, UK, France, IITs and NITs were present and had shared their expert views during event. The event has technical collaboration with IEEE, tttc, IET Journal. The selected papers of symposium will be published by IEEExplore which will provide the highest visibility and recognition to research papers. The authors of selected best symposium papers are invited to submit extended versions for a special issue of Journal IET Computers and Digital Techniques. 26/06/2015 Friday was celebrated as Student activity day where four full day workshops were organized in parallel in which more than 80 people participated. 27/06/2015 Saturday was Education Day and WIE Day celebration. On this day, seven full/half day tutorials in parallel were conducted by faculties of University of Southampton-UK, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Gauhati, IIT Patna, NIT Jaipur, SCL-Chandigarh, SAC-ISRO, BIT-Mesra and 125 participants attended this. On 28th and 29th June, Inauguration, Key note Speech and Paper Presentation was held. Chief Guest: Dr K S Dasgupta, Director, IIST, Thiruvantapuram, Key Note Speakers Dr Abhijit Chatterjee, Georgia Tech, USA, Dr Dinesh Sharma, IIT Mumbai, Dr Rishad Shafik, University of Southmpton, UK and Dr V. Kamakoti, IIT Madra addressed the gathering.
