Team CON-SOL-E 4.0 comprising of undergraduate students of Institute of Technology, Nirma University, mentored by Prof. Harsh Kapadia and Prof. Alpesh Patel represented Institute of Technology Nirma University in 5th edition of Mitsubishi electric Cup held at B M S College of Engineering, Bangalore. The competition is a national-level automation competition for students organized by Mitsubishi Electric India every year in the month of February. This year the competition was held at B M S College of Engineering, Bangalore during 13th-15th February 2020. The team CON-SOL-E 4.0 was selected in the top 35 teams for the project demonstration out of 270 proposals received. They had proposed their idea named TAB-INS-PACK in the competition. In line with 5th Mitsubishi Electric Cup’s theme “Visualizing IOT solutions for Smart Automation”, a tablet inspection and packaging solution was developed using Mitsubishi Electric factory automation components, cloud-based software, machine vision, deep neural networks (DNN) and industrial internet of things was proposed. The primary objective of the system was to prepare an inspected and accurate tablet dosage for a patient which is prescribed by the doctor via an android application or website in the form of a 7*4 tray. The solution consisted of different components like an android application and website with an integrated chatbot, a well-engineered mechanical structure fabricated using SS316 material, tablet inspection using the industrial camera, packaging using servo motor based XY plotter, SCADA, a quadcopter and troubleshooting chatbot.
