About
Dr. Abhishek Vyas is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Nirma University, Ahmedabad. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Information Systems from BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus. His research interests include medical image analysis, machine learning, deep learning, and artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on AI applications in ophthalmology. His research focuses on developing advanced computational methods for the detection and diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy and other retinal diseases.
His research work has been published in reputed international journals, including Ophthalmic Epidemiology, Diagnostics, and Wiley Interdisciplinary Reviews. He has also completed professional certifications in Deep Learning and AI-based Diabetic Retinopathy Detection through Coursera.
Dr. Vyas received his M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from M.B.M. Government Engineering College, Jodhpur, in 2018 and his B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology, Rajasthan Technical University, Kota, in 2013. During his undergraduate studies, he received multiple academic recognitions, including being a university topper in several semesters.
Prior to joining academia, Dr. Vyas worked as a .NET Developer at ReliableSoft Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Jodhpur. He subsequently served as an Assistant Professor at J.I.E.T. Group of Institutions and as Guest Faculty at M.B.M. Engineering College, Jodhpur. He has taught courses including Operating Systems, Computer Programming, Real-Time Systems, Principles of Programming Languages, Database Systems, and Compiler Construction.
With experience in academia, industry, teaching, and research, Dr. Vyas is committed to advancing artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in healthcare, particularly in medical image analysis and ophthalmology. He is also passionate about teaching, mentoring students, and contributing to research and innovation in computer science and engineering.
