Prof. Alka Shah has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Civil Engineering Department since 2015. She earned her Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering from LD College of Engineering, Ahmadabad, in 2013, where she was awarded a Gold Medal for her academic excellence by Gujarat Technological University. Prof. Shah is currently pursuing her PhD at Pandit Deendayal Energy University, focusing on ground improvement using recycled materials. Prof. Shah has made significant contributions to the field through her publications in prestigious international journals and conferences. Notably, her paper titled "Improving the Soil Subgrade with Plastic Waste Reinforcement—An Experimental Study" was honored with the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on "Trends and Recent Advances in Civil Engineering (TRACE 2018)" held at Amity University, New Delhi. Her research interests are diverse and impactful, encompassing ground improvement techniques, geosynthetics, the use of plastic waste to enhance soil properties, and foundation engineering.
