Dr. Anant Patel is an Assistant Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at Nirma University. He has earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat, focusing on flood forecasting and early warning systems.
He holds an M.E. in Water Resources Management from L.D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad, specializing in flood modeling and flood management. Dr. Patel has diverse experience in both industry and academia. He previously worked as an Assistant Manager (Civil) at Dholera International Airport Company Limited (DIACL), Gandhinagar, a Government of Gujarat Undertaking, for one year before transitioning to academia.
He has published research papers in renowned international journals and conferences. His work was recognized with the Best Paper Award under the theme Groundwater Quality Management at the HYDRO International Conference (NIT Patna, December 2018).
Teaching & Research Areas
Dr. Patel teaches Water Resources and Irrigation Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Disaster Management, Environmental Studies, Environmental Conservation for Sustainable Development, Fluid Mechanics, and Hazardous Waste Management & Legislation.
His research interests include:
