Dr. Hasan M Rangwala is an Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering Department since 2015. He obtained BE degree in Civil Engineering from LD College of Engineering, Ahmedabad, in 2008 and MTech degree in Earthquake Engineering with specialisation in Soil Dynamics from IIT Roorkee in 2010. He completed his doctoral research and obtained PhD degree in 2014 from IIT Roorkee. His doctoral research area was Earthquake resistant design of foundations. He has academic experience of one and a half years at MANIT, Bhopal, prior to joining at Nirma University. Dr. Rangwala has Five book chapters, Six international journal papers and ten conference papers to his credit. He is actively involved in supervising the major project of MTech as well as various student projects at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Dr Rangwala has completed two (05) research projects funded by Nirma University. Currently, he is involved with one major research project from IIM Indore and a minor research project funded by Nirma University. He is actively involved in testing and consultancy work related to soil investigation, foundation design, etc. He is teaching subjects like geotechnical engineering, foundation engineering, reinforced earth and geosynthetics, sustainable building technologies at the undergraduate level and foundation engineering at the postgraduate level. Dr. Rangwala is a recognized PhD supervisor and currently supervising two (02) Ph.D. students. His areas of research include Ground improvement, Analysis and design of foundations & retaining structures, Dynamic properties of soil and Reinforced earth.
