Dr Jai Prakash Verma is working as an Associate Professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department, Institute of Technology, Nirma University. He has been associating with the department since July 2006. Dr Verma received his BSc (PCM) and MCA degree from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, and a PhD from Charusat University, Changa. His Ph.D. subject area was Text Data Summarization and Big Data Analytics. His research interests include Data Mining, Big Data Analytics, and Machine Learning. He has contributed to the research in said domain with several international conferences and journal publications. He is a recognized PhD guide at Nirma University and currently guides three PhD scholars. He has also been working as the IQAC coordinator for the School of Technology at Nirma University and actively contributing to all ranking-related tasks for the institute, such as NAAC, NBA, NIRF, etc. He is actively involved in various training programs, such as customized training on Big Data Analytics for Naval officers at INS Valsura, Indian Navy, and SAC-ISRO, Ahmedabad scientists. He with other faculty members of the department coordinates activities of CoE (Data Science) in the department, in collaboration with SUNY Binghamton, New York.
