About

  • Dr Kaushikkumar Mithabhai Patel is working as Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department since 2011. He joined the Institute of Technology, Nirma University as a lecturer in 1997. He obtained BE (Mechanical Engineering) in 1991 and MTech (Manufacturing Engineering) in 2003 from Gujarat University and IIT Bombay respectively. He obtained PhD degree from IIT Delhi in 2011. Dr Patel also holds Postgraduate Diplomas in Marketing Management and Finance Management from IGNOU. He has about thirty years of teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has three years of industrial experience in maintenance of heavy engineering equipment and machinery used in seamless tube manufacturing. He has guided more than 60 major projects at MTech (CAD/CAM) and MTech (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) programmes. He guided 7 PhD students and is presently guiding 2 PhD students for their research work. He has published more than 130 papers in national and international conferences and journals with h-index of 24 and i-10 index of 45. He has been working as a reviewer of international journals such as JMPT, IJAMT, Materials and Design, Rapid Prototyping Journal, etc. He has rendered professional services to leading universities in various capacities. He is also the Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator for projects sponsored by SERB-DST, ISRO-RESPOND, GUJCOST and Nirma University. His research interest includes Composite Materials, Analysis of Manufacturing Processes, Welding, Casting, and Machining.
