Dr Parul Patel joined Civil Engineering Department in August 1995 and currently working as Professor. She has obtained Bachelor degree in the year 1990 and Master degree in the year 2000 from Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya, Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar. She has completed PhD degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 2009. She has about 33 years of experience in the area of Construction Technology & Management and Geomatics Applications. She has guided two MTech by Research (Geomatics) students and one Ph D student. At present, she is guiding four PhD scholars. She has published more than 70 papers at national and international conferences and journals. She has completed six research projects funded by SAC-ISRO. One research project was supported by European Space Agency and SAC-ISRO. At present, she is Principal Investigator for one research projects worth Rs. 60 lakhs mostly funded by SAC-ISRO. Few consultancy works are on her credit. Her areas of research are construction technology and Management, applications of remote sensing, geographical information system and global positioning system. She is a member of many professional bodies like ISTE, GRSS IEEE, IGS, ISG, ISRS, GICEA, ILCE etc. She was working as a secretary for ISG and GRSS, IEEE Gujarat chapter and editorial member for magazine published by Indian Society of Remote Sensing.
