About
Dr Purnima Gandhi has joined as Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Technology department, Institute of Technology in January 2021. She has completed Ph.D. from Ahmedabad University, M.E. (Computer Science and Engineering) from Government Engineering College, Gandhinagar, and B.E. (Computer) from L.D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad.
She has 18 years of teaching and research experience in the field of parallel and distributed computing, big data analytics, and big spatial data. She has taught various subjects including data and file structure, discrete mathematics, theory of computation, system software, parallel processing, operating systems, design of language processor, and advanced databases at various institutes.
She has authored numerous research papers in the prestigious international conferences including VLDB, BDA, IEEE Big Data, HiPC, and ICTD. She has a research interest in architecting and realizing highly scalable and distributed systems on top of state-of-the-art big data open source architectures that can help end users effectively collect, persistent, query, analyse, and visualize heterogeneous and distributed data. She intend to develop substantial proficiency in designing and executing solutions for complex business problems involving large-scale data storage, analytics, and reporting solutions. With her experience in cutting-edge open-source technologies, she anticipate to hide away the complexity of data, and let end users focus on creating business value.
