About

  • Dr. Richa Mishra is a Senior Assistant Professor of English and also serves as the Head of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. She holds the position of Chairperson of the Humanities and Social Science Board of Studies within the Faculty of Technology and Engineering at Nirma University. Dr. Mishra is a recipient of the ICSSR Major Project grant (2023-25) and has presented her work at esteemed institutions such as MIT and Harvard University in the USA, as well as Oxford University in the UK, among others. Notably, she received runner-up awards at Oxford University in July 2022 for her Digital Humanities research project. Furthermore, she earned her PhD degree for her research on comparative studies of women confessional poets from Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur. Dr. Mishra leads a research group focused on Digital Humanities at the intersection of Gender, Language, and Digital space. Her areas of interest encompass Language, Gender studies, and Higher Order Thinking Skills, and she actively guides students in these domains. She is renowned for her insightful and participative workshops on Critical Thinking and Design Thinking, which she has conducted both in India and globally. Dr. Mishra also serves as visiting faculty at Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Boston, teaching the course on Critical Thinking for the Maritime Industry. She is a TEDx Speaker (2017) and one of the Mentors of Change under the Atal Innovation Mission. Her contributions to gamifying education have been recognized twice by Infosys, where she is referred to as a Content Guru and Distinguished Facilitator for her course design in Critical Thinking, in the years 2015 and 2017. She is the author of five books, including "Introduction to Critical Thinking" and "Textbook for English and Communication Skills." Additionally, she was awarded the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute Grant for the year 2015-16 and served as a visiting scholar at Memorial University, Canada. Dr. Mishra is a Master Trainer for IELTS accredited by the British Council and reviewer of various journals.
