  • Dr Sanjay Patel is Professor of Chemical Engineering and Head of First Year Engineering Programmes. He obtained his BE degree from DDIT, Nadiad in the year 1997. Dr Patel obtained MTech degree and PhD degree from IIT Delhi in the year 2004 and 2007, respectively. He was Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering from 2010 to 2016 and In-charge Head of Department of Mathematics and Humanities from 2016 to 2018. He has published a good number of research papers in international referred journals and international and national conferences/proceedings. Dr Patel has published two Indian patents. The Institute of Chemical Engineers conferred on him a prestigious Dr A V Rama Rao Best PhD Thesis and Research Award for his outstanding research work. Dr Patel was also awarded with Best Engineering College Teacher (Gujarat State) for the year 2012 by Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). He won the best research paper award at International Conference on Fuel Cell Science, Engineering and Technology, New York organised by ASME. He is actively involved in consultancy, research and testing in the area of chemical engineering. Dr Patel's research interests include Hydrogen Energy, Biofuels, Heterogeneous Catalysis, Green Process Developments and Membrane Science. He is a member of various prestigious organisations such as ISTE, IIChE, IE, IAHE, SPE and AOCS.
