  • Dr Sharadkumar Purohit is working as Professor in Civil Engineering Department. He received Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from BVM Engineering College, Vallabh Vidyanagar in the year 1994. He earned MTech and PhD degrees with specialisation in Structural Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITBombay), Mumbai in the year 2002 and 2010, respectively. He possess professional structural engineer experience of about three years. He has, at his credit, more than 80 research papers published with international journals and international/national conferences. He alongwith his peers has been granted a patent by The Patent Office, Government of India. He has graduated 2 PhD students and 3 students are currently working with him. He has guided more than 50 postgraduate students for the dissertation. Dr Purohit has been awarded with E P Nicolaides Prize and Sir Arthur Cotton Memorial Prize from The Institution of Engineers (India) for the paper publication. He is also awarded with National Award for best MTech Thesis in Civil Engineering for having guided Best MTech Thesis (Ist Prize) by Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). He has been serving as a Member of Board of Studies to many academic institutions. He is actively involved in research, consultancy and testing activities related to structural engineering. He has received research grants from external International and National funding agencies like QR Global Challenges Research Funding (GCRF) at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), Liverpool-UK, ISRO-RESPOND Programme, Gujarat Council on Science & Technology (GUJCOST) and The Institution of Engineers (India) to conduct research projects.
