About

  • Dr. Shivangi Banerjee has been working as an Assistant Professor of English Language at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Institute of Technology, Nirma University. She did her Bachelor, Master, and Master of Philosophy in Linguistics from the University of Delhi. She completed her doctoral studies in Linguistics at the Centre for Linguistics, School of Language Literature & Culture Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her doctoral research work was supported by the prestigious ICSSR Doctoral Fellowship. Recently, she has also completed her Post-Graduate Diploma in Translation (English-Hindi) from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi, India. She has been teaching English Communication Skills to Engineering students in the role of Visiting Faculty (VF) at the Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) and Delhi Skill & Entrepreneurship University (DESU) since 2022. Before this engagement, she also worked at the Linguistic Empowerment Cell (JNU), and the Non-Collegiate Women Education Board (DU) as a Guest Lecturer for English Language. She has gained research expertise in the fields of English Language Teaching (ELT), English for Academic Writing, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), Language and Communication, and Personality. She was also one of the recipients of the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) at the California State University, San Bernardino, CA, USA in 2012. She has published several research papers in reputed journals indexed in SCOPUS and UGC-Care lists. She has presented her research works both at national and international conferences and was awarded several national and international awards.
