About
Prof. Vishal Vaidya is working as an assistant professor in the department of electronics and instrumentation engineering at the School of Technology, Institute of Technology. He has more than 15 years of experience in the fields of teaching and research.
He obtained his BE in Instrumentation and Control Engineering and his ME in Applied Instrumentation from Gujarat University in 2004 and 2014, respectively. He has published research papers in the area of robotics, control, and embedded applications in international journals and conferences. He has successfully completed one minor research project funded by Nirma University in the area of robotics. He has guided many UG dissertations based on robotics applications. He has guided eight idea lab projects, of which one was awarded as the "Best Idea Lab" project. He has provided mentorship for students with projects under the India Innovative Challenge Design Contest organized by Texas Instruments in 2015 and 2018. At the Robofest 3.0 competition in 2023, he mentored student participants to the final prototype stage. Team's Robofest 3.0 Rover is on public display at Robotic Gallery, Science City. He has served as a member of the Board of Studies. He is currently pursuing a PhD at Gujarat Technological University.
His areas of interest are autonomous vehicles, cognitive robotics, robotic agents, and the field of robot general intelligence.
