Now a days DISCOMs are using one way static energy meter in which there is no communication possible so by using latest technologies in this area my advantages can be obtained and Smart Meter is one such option. As technology advancement increases these type of smart systems need to be installed in electrical domain. If economic condition of DISCOMs is taken into consideration then most of them are in loss there are many factors affecting this situations however by using such type of system revenue losses can be reduced. By getting load consumption pattern of different consumers at different level DISCOMs can take many information and they can also forecasting load efficiently.

Expected outcomes :-

  • Daily Usage data
  • Load profile(15\30\60 min)
  • Remote firmware upgradation
  • Remote switching(connects and disconnection in case of demand violation or tempering of meter)
  • Accurate and timely data-improving billing and revenue collection
  • Consumer demand, letting utilities forecast and contract for power requirements more accurately
  • Consumer choice either prepaid or post-paid
  • Demand response to the utility
  • Better consumer services and consumer satisfaction
  • Lowered AT&C losses
