Digital Interface for measuring deflection of cantilever beam

Abstract: A cantilever beam size of 700 mm 100 mm 10 mm is used for the experimental setup as shown in below figure. Load is applied at any longitudinal section of the beam and deflection corresponding to the load at free support can be measure using LVDT. The load can be measured by load cell. Both the circuits are connected to LCD screen using Arduino to fetch the real time data. Live plot of load verse deflection can prepare and simultaneously bending moment and shear force diagram can be prepare corresponding to applied load. Analytical results will be calculate with the help of theoretical calculation and same will be compare with experimental results which can be achieved by this setup. This instrumental setup can be used as laboratory instrument to measure load, deflection and corresponding error for cantilever beam.
