Abstract: This project aims at making the driving experience of two wheeler vehicles more seamless. This project is a perfect example of the quote ‘Necessity is the mother of all inventions’. While driving my personal two-wheeler vehicle, I faced lot of situations that are very frustrating. For example, if someone is calling me while I am driving, then there is a long process involved that includes – slowing down the bike and taking it to the side, removing the helmet and removing the phone to make the call. In many situations, I would miss a call that had an important message such as “The meeting has been canceled”, while I am on my way to office.
Apart from all the inconveniences, I have met with an accident, which I feel could be avoided with this project. I dashed into a vehicle, which was in front of my bike as soon as I looked in the rear view mirror to see from which side the vehicle behind me was overtaking. Similarly, one of my friend met with an accident as she was trying to self-navigate to a destination with one hand on the vehicle and in one hand holding her phone.
Friday – Smart Assistant Helmet makes the driving experience seamless by including features such as making voice calls, sending text messages, alerting when receiving call and many more. It also has alert mechanism for the vehicles overtaking from behind. All this features are having voice interface, which makes sure that the driving is uninterrupted as well as ensures the safety of the driver and the vehicle
