Abstract: In this current situation where crimes and intrusion are increasing at a faster pace at our homes, offices, banks and even at borders, the degree of security is feeble. Surveillance is imperative everywhere. This report presents the design and development of a Raspberry Pi based smarter surveillance system. The primary aim of this project is to make a modular 3 level surveillance system which can be easily deployed at the places that require high security like banks, borders, monuments etc. The system has three layers of security so that in case the intruder passes the one, there is another one as backup. First layer is the Laser System which will cover the complete fence and will send the signal of intrusion to the corresponding base station. This layer is followed by the Fence system that has the vibration sensor placed on the fencing and that sends signal to the corresponding base station. The third one is the unmanned vehicle which does continuous patrolling. The major advantage of this system is that it is cost effective and reduces the human resources deployed in surveillance.
