Abstract: Convectional stoves are used by most of people in rural area which thermal efficiency is around 15%. Moreover they produce harmful emission which is not good for environment and human health aspect. Improved cook stoves are remarkable as they reduced fuel needs by 50%, toxic smoke by 95% and black carbon emission by 91%.
Proposed Natural draft cookstove is based on inverted downdraft gasification principle which is having two air duct. Downward air duct (primary duct) is helpful to convert solid biomass to gaseous fuel (rich in CO+H2) and this gas is burnt with presence of air from upper air duct (secondary duct). Carbon conversion efficiency is higher in this stove. This stove can operate with any carbonaceous fuel (fuel flexible). This stove can be used for drying and electricity generation (peltier generator) purpose.
