Plastic waste is increasing day by day. Pirana Garbage mountains, polluted beaches, water bodies, threat to marine life, threat to wildlife are among the threats which are posed by, without thinking, dumping plastic wastes. Plastic wastes is polluting environment, disturbing eco system and affecting water bodies.
A report from CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board) states that plastic waste generation in India is 3.2 million metric tonnes per year.
Aggregate is the main constituent of concrete, which is a naturally available material and is available in some definite quantity. Replacing this constituent will result in need of less naturally available aggregate, reduction in plastic waste and maintaining same amount of strength of concrete.
The aim of the project is to use Plastic Aggregate in Concrete Pavements and study potential of using plastic aggregate as partial replacement to natural aggregate and carryout various tests.
