Institute of Technology, Nirma University organised orientation programme for the students of BTech First Year from July 20, 2019, to July 26, 2019.
A week-long orientation programme started with an Open house interaction of parents and students with Director, Additional Director, and Head of Departments of the Institute of Technology. The institute invited experts and faculty members to share their knowledge on various topics like Plagiarism, International Relations, Academic Regulations, Thalassemia awareness, Overview of outcome-based Education, E-mail & Social media guidelines, WDC and Prevention of Sexual Harassment, Anti-Ragging, extension activities, student counseling, health and hygiene, NSS Activities, and NCC activities. These sessions helped the students understand the University and its policies.
As part of the programme, the students were taken for a visit to the Akshaypatra Foundation and were surprised to see the operations in Asia’s automated mega kitchens.
On July 26, 2019, was the inaugural function of the Academic Session of BTech Batch of 2019-23. The Chief Guest for the morning session was Dr JN Singh, Chief Secretary, Government of Gujarat. Addressing the students, Dr Singh asked them to have a passion for learning and to utilise these four years to stand out of the crowd.
The afternoon session of the inaugural function had Shri Saurabh Patel, Honourable Minister, Energy, Government of Gujarat, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the students, Shri Saurabh Patel asked the engineering students to focus on their career building and to become responsible citizens of the country. To be successful, he asked the students to control their temperament, manage time, create opportunities and not to expect immediate results.
