Dr. Claire Komives’ workshop

Dr. Claire Komives (Professor, Biomedical, Chemical & Materials Engineering, San José State, San José, CA, US) Fulbright – Nehru Scholar, conducted a workshop at the School of Engineering, Institute of Technology, Nirma University during October 7 – 11, 2019 for faculty members on the following topics:

1. Writing effective research proposals – October 7, 2019
2. Writing a journal paper for Engineering Education Research (EER) – October 8, 2019
3. Workshop on effective teaching – October 9-11, 2019

The following objectives were achieved from the workshop:

• To design and deliver an effective lecture to ensure student engagement and motivation
• To develop an ability to ask the right questions through learning – teaching process
• To create rubrics to provide transparent and constructive feedback
• To envisage the outcome of the project, its budget and timeline
• To execute an effective literature search and Interpretation
