Smart India Hackathon (SIH) is a nationwide initiative by MHRD, GoI to provide students with a platform to solve some of the pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem-solving.
Every year the Centre for Entrepreneurship organizes OnCampus SIH edition to encourage students towards innovation and technology. This year also the Centre had organized internal rounds for SIH 2020 as per the guidelines of MHRD IIC Cell on January 18, 2020 at the Institute of Technology where, total 31 teams participated, out of which 9 teams were selected under software category for the National Grand Finale. Out of 9 teams, 2 teams were selected by the evaluation committee of SIH 2020 to attend the online Grand Finale organized from August 01-03, 2020.
Out of these two teams, one team has been declared the winner for the problem statement given by the Airport Authority of India and received a cash prize money of Rs 1 lacs. Another team got a special prize of Rs. 25,000 for the problem statement given by the Indian Space Research Organization at the Grand Finale of SIH 2020. Continuing the journey, the teams may get a chance to participate in the International “Singapore-India Hackathon” to be held in Singapore this year.
