Nirma University ISA Student Chapter Members receives Scholarship from USA

Six students from the Instrumentation & Control Engineering Department of Institute of Technology, Nirma University, secured scholarships worth USD 8500, from the International Society of Automation (ISA), USA.

Every year ISA grants scholarships to bright minds for their contribution in the field of automation and to the growth of ISA Students Chapter in their institute. It is a global level scholarship and the society receives nominations from across the globe. This year six students from Nirma University received the scholarship. The recipients can utilise the amount to support their education expenses like fees, books, project overheads, etc.

The University congratulates Ms Somya Gupta (2000USD), Ms Shailly Maheshwari (2000USD) and Mr Prashant Somaiya (2000USD) for receiving the ISA Education Foundation Scholarships. In addition to these, congratulations to Mr Rishi Hiran (1300 USD), Mr Rutvik Desai (700 USD) and Mr Shrey Shah (500 USD) on being the recipients of the scholarships from PMCD Division of ISA.

To be eligible for ISA scholarship one has to be a member of the ISA Students Chapter in their Institute/University, should contribute to the growth of the society and have a fair academic record.

Dr R N Patel, Director, Institute of Technology appreciated the brilliant performance of the students and committed to ensure excellent support of the Nirma University Management to all the students in future as well.

Dr D M Adhyaru, HoD, Instrumentation & Control Engineering Department infers it as the outcome of the entire department’s enthusiastic support. He adds that, in the past more than 25 ISA scholarships were secured by the students of IC department. He further highlighted that IC Department at Nirma University offers courses to cater the need of the automation based industries. Being an interdisciplinary branch, students are well accepted by diverse industries.

Dr H K Patel, Chair, Student Affairs at ISA (Asia-Pacific) emphasised the importance of ISA global platform in the professional growth of the students.

Prof Ankit Sharma, Faculty Advisor of ISA Student Chapter at Nirma University shares the credit of this achievement to the dynamic team of student members who made the chapter vibrant through various activities round the year.
