Department of Computer Science and Engineering proudly highlights the achievement of Mr Pranav Mistry, an alumnus (1999-2003 batch) of the Department. Mr Pranav is recognized across the globe as an innovator and technocrat par excellence. His recent invention of ‘NEON’ – a humanoid robot can respond and express feelings just like humans. This Humanoid works on the Principle of R3. R3 refers to Reality, Realtime and Responsiveness. The robot claims to react within a few milliseconds. Mr Pranav Mistry is the CEO of the Samsung Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Labs, where the NEON was built.
“There are millions of species on our planet, and we hope to add one more,” Pranav Mistry, Neon CEO and head of STAR Labs, said in a press release. “Neons will be our friends, collaborators and companions, continually learning, evolving and forming memories from their interactions.” This human avatar is intended to serve as a personal companion.
