The session focused on creating awareness about gender equality, the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013, and the importance of building a safe and respectful academic environment. It aimed to equip students with practical knowledge of legal provisions, reporting mechanisms, and responsible conduct.
The session was delivered by Ms. Sonal Joshi, Advocate and Social Activist, who shared valuable insights from her extensive legal and counselling experience. Her interactive discussion helped participants understand real-life implications of sexual harassment laws and the importance of awareness and sensitivity in addressing such issues.
The programme was supported by the SETU Programme, implemented through the Gender Resource Centre, Women & Child Development Department, Government of Gujarat. The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Jitali Patel, with active support from the Gender Champions.
The session saw enthusiastic participation from students and concluded with a vote of thanks followed by refreshments.
