Application of MQL in incremental sheet metal forming

Minimum Quantity Lubrication (MQL), is a lubrication system used to ensure minimum use of lubrication to prevent undesirable environmental effects of the discarded lubrication oil/coolant. The surface quality of the part formed by the incremental sheet metal forming depends on the process parameters and the lubricant/coolant used during the process. In this project work, a study on the effect of lubricant/coolant on the surface quality of part formed by the single point incremental forming process has been carried out. The objective of the project is to implement MQL system to obtain best possible surface quality and to minimize the use of lubricant/coolant.
