Objectives:
• To design and develop an automated PCB defect inspection system comprising
of 3D laser triangulation and 2D industrial vision systems, computing hardware,
AI based software, gantry system with a motorized mount for vision system and
stationary mechanical assembly to hold the PCB.
Scope of Work:
• To carry out detailed study of the placement and orientation of components,
assembly process related defects as well as cleaning related defects in the DUT
to be inspected.
• To perform selection procedure to identify 2D and 3D vision system, computing
hardware and software development platform.
• To design and fabricate of mechanical assembly for DUT placement and gantry
system with motorized mount for camera system
• To investigate and develop novel inspection algorithm to suffice the automated
inspection of the parts in the sub-systems.
• To integrate and evaluate the developed system in order to achieve accurate
and reliable defect inspection in DUT.
