In our university, every classroom is equipped with a high-end camera system. Presently these set-up is used just for monitoring purposes, but additionally, it could also be used for registering automated student attendance for any class by face recognition. The purpose of developing an automatic attendance system is to computerize the traditional way of taking
the attendance. The use of ID cards swiping, punching and manually writing down names on a sheet of paper as a method to track student attendance has prompted this project to be carried out. This System could perform the daily activities of attendance marking and analysis with reduced human intervention and with reasonable accuracy. This system will
not only improve classroom control during lectures but also inculcate discipline in the student.
