Enhanced Flood Inundation Mapping using Near Real-time Satellite Imagery and Real-Time Geo-Tags
The overall objective of the research is the development of an effective methodology for flood inundation mapping, flood forecasting, and flood hazard mapping using high resolution satellite images and social media posts.
Following are the specific objectives:
To Evaluate the suitability of various satellite image sources for generating flood inundation maps.
To evaluate the impact of changing climate on future flood hazards.
To develop an enhanced flood forecasting model by incorporating the social media geo-tags.
