The aim for the research will be to design and devise a Bidirectional Power Flow Capable charger for the batteries used in Electric Vehicles. The tentative objectives to be achieved under the said research will be design and implementation of a bidirectional fast charger setup for the batteries which is capable of charging the battery in various modes, multifunctional control of converter with compatibility for Grid to Battery and Battery to Grid as well as use of advanced computational technique in the control of power flow from Grid to Vehicle and Vehicle to Grid. The outcomes of the research work or societal impact of the research work will be typically in proposing a universal all-purpose converter catering the needs of charger, motor controller and grid connected converter depending upon the requirement of user which could lead to monetary benefits on account of lesser power components as well as enhancing efficiency of battery charger stage as the DC-DC converter stage from the conventional charger can be eliminated.
