Smart Sun Tracking System for Solar Power Plants

Solar power plants are the most discussed energy generation method in recent times. Many industries and government have shown interest in the establishment of the solar based power plants. The existing power plants has fixed orientation solar panels. The panels are oriented such that they face the sun at a specific angle only. The angle of inclination of these panels never changes throughout the year. It is very well known that the sun’s orientation with respect to earth is not constant. Observed from the earth, from a specific point, the sun changes its angle with respect to earth throughout the year. To get the maximum efficiency from the solar panels, it is necessary to incline the panels exactly towards the sun. The existing fixed inclined panels may not exactly face the sun throughout the year due to its change of position with respect to earth. A system can be designed, which follows the sun during the day time and has a capability to change the inclination of the panels on specific intervals of the year to exactly follow the sun astronomically.
