Organisation of Civil Engineering Students (OrCES), was established on December 28, 1997. All the students of the department are registered members of OrCES. OrCES emphasises on professional development of students by organizing various co-curricular, extra-curricular and socially relevant activities. These events imbibe leadership, management and inter-personal skills in the students and help in building team spirit.
OrCES is well known for its annual flagship event “NIRMAN – A National Level Symposium” in which large number of students from various national level technical institutions participate every year. OrCES works on current issues of concern like Road Safety & Traffic Awareness, E-waste Collection Drive, Fire Mock Drill and Cleanliness & Hygiene Awareness Drive through student activities round the year. OrCES arranges farewell function for the graduating students every year to cherish the memories during their stay at the department.
SETU – a Social Initiative under OrCES aim to host various extension activities to support social causes. SETU had worked tirelessly for ‘Flood Relief Initiative’ to support the affected people of Banaskantha flood (2017) and the Kerala flood (2018).
