The Student Chapter of the Computer Society of India (CSI) was established in 2004 and has been actively conducting many technical, social and cultural events. The Chapter has successfully organised activities like programming competitions, quiz competitions, seminars on upcoming technologies, programming language learning sessions and many more. It regularly organises workshops, seminars, conventions and technical talks for the benefit of professionals and users of IT in addition to conducting continuing educational and professional development programs for a focused audience of budding professionals, researchers and students.

Event Title: National Level Hackathon


Computer Society of India, Nirma University have recently organized a National Level Hackathon participated by more than 100 teams from various prestigious colleges of India. Mr. Sandeep Jain, founder of Geeks for Geeks was invited as a chief guest to inaugurate the event virtually. People came up with very innovative problem statements and solution in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain Technologies, Augmented reality and many more. Many goodies, schwags and cash prizes were distributed among the participants at the end of the event.


Computer society of India,Nirma University organized a session for first year students ‘#include on 18 November 2022 between 4:00pm-6:00pm in C Audi.The session was conducted by notable alumni of our esteemed college,former csi president and current product manager at ebay Mr Alark Patel.The session proved to be very beneficial for all the students.He talked about the current trends in technology and the emerging fields and what all skills need to be developed to ace job interviews.

CSI organized GSOC Heist on 26 November 2022 between 4-6 pm in online mode.The session was conducted by Anand Kumar, Mentor at Gsoc 2022 at OpenAstronomy and Yash Punia, Gsoc Mentor 2022 and 2021.The two hour long session provided everyone with in depth knowledge of working of GSOC , it’s pre-requisites and cleared all the myths surrounding it.

CSI organized know your domain event in collaboration with acm. 4 sessions were organized collectively to get brief understanding in four major domains of computer science which were web technologies, artificial intelligence and machine learning, quant technologies and cyber security. The first session was held on 7th January by Ankit singh on web development in which everyone was briefed about full stack development. On 8th January Swapnil Patel took the session on one of the most booming technologies which is AI and ML. The session proved to be very insightful for everybody this was followed by a session on cyber security on 9th January which was conducted by Falgun Rathod, he briefed about the importance of cyber security and current company requirements. The event was concluded by Purvansh Shah on quant technologies. About 120 students were benefitted from the sessions.

CSI board members had a meet with Mihir who is graduated from IT,NU in Computer Engineering in the year 2014. After that he has done masters at Gerogeo Tech University – USA. He met with board members and guided so many things to the idea lab students related to their project work

The contest consist of 5-6 problems that is needed to be solved in a time bounded manner. The submissions are verified for originality and the rankings are given o the basis of the performance of students. The editorial gives a detailed understanding of topics around which the problems are asked on (every Weekend)

The session focused on importance of social media and LinkedIn presence to land up a job interview. The speaker briefed up on how to find opportunities through platforms like LinkedIn, How to reach out to recruiters on LinkedIn, how to ask for a referral , how to build a powerful resume, the keywords one must include while writing a resume.

CSI organized fireside chat with Dhruvil Sanghvi founder and CEO of loginext with moderator Mr. Samir Motwani co founder of rapidops. The session focused on entrepreneurship and startups. He elaborated on how a startup works and shared his experience on how he went from working in a MNC to starting up his own company and getting into Forbes 30 under 30.He answered several questions on masters in us, internship opportunities and co-curricular activities. He emphasized on the importance of hands on training and working on real time projects.

CSI is known for conducting multiple flagship events, CUBIX being one of those. This fun-packed event is a perfect amalgamation of fun, tech and logic. Conducted in complete offline mode after a couple of years, CUBIX 2023 caught the attention of a huge crowd. With 6 exciting events and 2 days of fun and frolic, all the participants and organizers surely had a wonderful weekend, full of learning and enjoyment. The events were creatively presented and included Treasure Hunt, Code Relay, OptiAlgo, Blind Coding, Codepid and Design It Right.

HackNuThon is the biggest event conducted by CSI every year. It is a 36 hour long hackathon experience which sees participants from many different colleges across the country.
Participants get a wide range of tracks and domains to choose from – FinTech, Education, Agriculture, BlockChain etc. Domain specific mentors mentor the participants on the ideas they have in their mind so that they can implement them better.
The top participants are judged by able industry experts. Winners get handsome prizes and goodies. The entire event is loaded with fun and frolic, lots of learning and teamwork.

The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is one of the most renowned team coding competitions of the world. Team coding events are quite different from individual contests because here team members need to sync their ideas, focus on different topics to maximize the team efficiency and trust each other’s coding abilities.

CSI aims to conduct team coding competitions to inculcate this team spirit at an early stage for budding programmers.

The placement and internship season starts in 4-5 months. Bunch of companies will visit on campus and off campus to hire students for various roles. CSI is known for its amazing placement records. Seniors who got an internship offer or placement offer share their experiences with the juniors and mentor them on how to go around with the whole procedure.

Online assessment rounds, technical interviews and behavioral rounds are covered in detail to help juniors get accustomed to the process and prepare well.
