About the Institute of Technology

The Institute of Technology, Nirma University, established in 1995, is a leading hub of education, offering multidisciplinary undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in Engineering and Technology. It is known for its excellent teaching-learning pedagogy, state of the art infrastructure, progressive curriculum and discipline.

The Institute is ranked 131 by the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF-2020) making its mark amongst four thousand plus engineering colleges in the country. The top ranking agencies too consistently place the Institute at the top in the state and in top 15 in the country amongst self-financed colleges. All the Under Graduate programmes are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The Institute is known for its prowess in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and has established a Centre of Excellence in Data Science in collaboration with the State University of New York, Binghamton and another in Robotics and Automation.

The Institute has a Supercomputer facility (Param Shavak designed by C-DAC) awarded by the Gujarat Council of Science and Technology (GUJCOST) for conducting high-end advanced computing studies and research.

Awards

Institute has won the Best ISTE Students Chapter Award, Shri. Pravinkaka Ratilal Maniar Best Knowledge Centre (Library) Award and the Best Institute for Contributing in Social Activities Award by the ISTE, New Delhi in February 2022. Research Stories view all

Research is not just a philosophy but the very essence of all our academic endeavour. The faculty as well as students of the Institute are actively involved in research. In order to encourage research, the Institute offers various doctoral programmes, has active collaboration with research organisations of repute, undertakes consultancy and funded research projects and maintains laboratories in highly specialised areas. The Institute has more than 105 students registered in the doctoral programmes of all departments. Full time research is encouraged through 16 scholarships every year and more through Government of India initiated Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme for Electronics and IT fields.
